“The Focus on the Oceans in Norwegian Foreign and Development Policy”
We will gather at Seasons 52 at Tysons Corner in McLean at 12:00/noon. Lunch will be served shortly after our arrival followed by a short introduction by 21st Century Luncheon Director Sigurd Neubauer and DCM Dirdal’s talk. Parking is free, but there is also a valet service available on the lower level. If you come by metro, take the Silver Line towards Wiehle/Reston to the Tysons Corner station.
Deputy Chief of Mission Marius Dirdal will give us an overview of the Norwegian Government’s current focus on the oceans in their foreign and development policy. After his talk, there will be a chance to ask him questions.
Before DCM Dirdal was posted to Washington DC, he was the Director for Russia, Eurasia and Regional Cooperation in the Security Policy Department of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs/MFA. He has held numerous positions in the Norwegian MFA since 1998. He holds Degrees in Political Science and Russian from the University of Oslo and the University of Bergen. He is married and has three children.
