About Us

Who we are

We are mainly a social organization. Among the first words of our constitution are these: “…to promote good fellowship among interested people of Norwegian ancestry or affiliation…” We also exist to preserve the traditions, culture and history of the Norwegian and Norwegian-American people and to promote knowledge and understanding of Norway today.

Members are native Norwegians, of Norwegian heritage, or have an interest, either personal or professional, in Norway. Adults, children and families are welcome to join. We are not all blue-eyed blondes, and you to don’t have to be either!

History of the Norwegian Society of Washington, D.C.
